Position Description:

Location: Halifax NS (Onsite)
Years experience: Minimum 10+ years

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle/PLSQL Developer to join our team in Halifax, NS.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Oracle/PLSQL development, with a strong background in database architecture, data analysis, and test automation.
You should be able to work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
You also possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable participating in agile development processes.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

-Develop and maintain Oracle/PLSQL code, including stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and transactions.
-Design and optimize databases using star schema and relational models.
-Implement Test Driven Development (TDD) and Test Automation strategies to ensure code quality and reliability.
-Analyze business requirements and provide hands-on solutions through analysis, design, and development.
-Collaborate with Java API developers to integrate database functionality into applications.
-Troubleshoot and resolve data issues to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
-Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
-Engage in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
-Deliver high-quality solutions within tight deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
-Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management on project status, risks, and issues.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Key Skills:
• Strong Oracle/PLSQL skillset (SQL, Stored Procedures, Packages, Functions, Cursor, Transactions, Triggers, Indexing, Exception Handling, Performance Tuning etc.)
• Good understanding of Star Schema, Relational and transactional databases,
• Experience in Test Driven Development & Test Automation
• Hands-on analysis, design, and development experience
• Java API’s experience (excellent to have)
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand and translate data requirements into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data issues, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Participate in code reviews. Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and deliver high-quality solutions on tight deadlines. Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management on project status, risks, and issues.
