Position Description
CGI Federal has an exciting new opportunity supporting a large new Agile development project. We are actively seeking an Information Assurance Specialist to support our federal customer.


Your future duties and responsibilities
- The Information Assurance Specialist shall be responsible for overall support of the TSA Certification and Accreditation (C&A) requirements.
- Provide technical, administrative and security management services in the area of C&A by supporting the IT evaluations and assessments and performing documentation support services for System Owners and other relevant customers.
- Provide guidance and support to the software development process in an Agile environment.
- Support the performance toward the certification and re]certification of all major applications, stand]alone systems and general support systems within the environment.
- Support the compliance of the defined Certification & Accreditation (C&A) process. The process consists of (i) generating an information system initial risk assessment report; (ii) developing the system security plan (SSP); and, (iii) supporting the security testing and evaluation, independent verification and validation, independent audits. The SSP is updated in each phase/step as the system development progresses and new information becomes available.
- Support the gathering of data to compile, draft and prepare the necessary documentation for inclusion to the SSP. The Information Assurance Specialist will ensure that all drafts go thru Quality Assurance Review prior to delivery.
- Supports the accuracy of the System Security Plan (SSP), and system architectural diagrams.
- Support the performance and the conduct of independent Test and Evaluation to ensure that the systemfs confidentiality, integrity and availability are maintained at the standards that are in accordance with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 199 and FIPS 200.
- Support the performance System Architectural Analysis to include review of network connections and interfaces, review system application specification and requirements, specifically those relevant to system security, and review other pertinent system development life cycle documentation.
- Support the determination if Personal Identifiable Information (PII) is stored, processed or transmitted within the new system. If applicable, the Information Assurance Specialist will support TSA's Privacy Threshold Analysis (PTA) with the system owner.
- Support the preparation of the package for delivery to management in order to obtain signature from the Certification Authority, who grants certification and the DAA or Authorizing Official, who grants the accreditation, which results in an approval to operate the system.
- Support the monitoring of FISMA dashboards to ensure and assist in validating that all security criteria and regulatory requirements are maintained, and that changes that affect the C&A documentation are denoted.
- Support the use of the government appointed tool to input information or create a C&A package during the C&A process.



Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 15+ years of experience (or a Master's Degree and 10 years of experience)
- CISSP certification
- BS in Computer Science or a related field

Desired Skills:

- Experience Agile methodologies and supporting tools.
- Experience utilizing an Agile framework (e.g. Scrum, Extreme Programming, Kanban, SAFe) in software development.
