Position Description:

Works with technicians involved with proper maintenance and operation of telecommunications systems and equipment. Identifies network problems, isolates root causes, and initiates corrective action. Determines priority of action and additional resources required, based on severity of service interruption. Provides technical analysis to all customers to isolate issues and develop strategies to restore or activate services. Interacts with field engineers, core engineers, and transmission and RF staff regarding ongoing network activities. Ascertains compliance with security, safety, and environmental guidelines. Generates reports on network performance, trouble-shooting results, and routine maintenance of network elements.

Performs analysis and systems design for a variety of applications. Gathers information from users for analysis of problem areas. Participates in or may plan and conduct preliminary studies of potential data processing applications and prepares design proposals to reflect cost, time and alternative actions to satisfy existing and future needs. Recommends conversion and system implementation plans including user training and orientation.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Analyze and review projects related to customer managed networks,
• Analyze and review operations and projects related to key application,
• Analyze and review projects related to cybersecurity,
• Provide project management.
• Daily contact with each in setting and managing expectations and project priorities, providing/obtaining status reports, resolving issues within and across teams and sites, and dealing with challenging situations.
• Interfaces with vendors for product research.
• Interfaces with technicians at other customer and other government entities.
• Requires broad ranging technical experience with information systems and technology (enterprise systems and applications, security, and networking).
• Implements, tests, and maintains LANs/WANs.
• Monitors Palo Alto firewall and network performance.
• Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to ensure no disruption of mission critical applications.
• Adheres to all Information Assurance standards and practices.
• Supports remote access platforms and connectivity to those platforms.
• Creates and updates network documentation in support of network operations.
• Provides product and new technology research and evaluation.
• Upgrades and updates network products based on vendor specifications.
• Performs network troubleshooting in support of system malfunctions.
• Tracks work using an industry level tracking system.
• Responsible for scheduled and non-scheduled after-hours maintenance.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

- 5 to 8 years in related role.
- Must possess and maintain a DoD 8570 IAT II baseline certification (Security+CE, CCNA Security; CySA+; GICSP; GSEC; SSCP)
- At least 5 Years’ experience administering CISCO environments.
- Extensive experience as a systems/network administrator
- Knowledge of network/networking principles
- Ability to work for senior officials in a dynamic environment
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
- Experience in communicating technical situations to a non-technical audience.
- Experience in communicating status to management and ranking personnel.
- SECRET clearance required; must be US Citizen
