Your future duties and responsibilities:

As an Infrastructure Architect on our team, you will be working on several projects within the business. This role will require communication and interaction with multiple internal and external clients to ensure projects meet client requirements and are delivered on time. Your responsibilities will include:
• Act as a Client Architect, working on proposals and projects
• Production of high-level guidance, approaches and technological solutions including high-level effort estimates
• Production and management of the life cycle of the annual Technology Plan
• Provide comprehensive solutions across multiple business domains
• Support business development
• Work independently and lead in group disucssions, assist and coach other team members
• Evaluate new tools and methodologies
• Promote and follow best practices, provide advice on technical training and curriculum
• Liase with other internal CGI groups
• Provide consulting services to clients in multiple domains of expertise
• Lead designs, specifications and work plans that meet or exceed established business and technical design requirements, approved architecture and technical standards, quality assurance, service levels, and continuous improvement goals.
• Participate in Architecture Review Board meetings to peer review and provide feedback, recommendations, required actions and approvals for design documents
• Look for ways to improve the infrastructure environment in regards to security, stability and sustainability.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Essential qualifications
• 10+ years of progressive Enterprise IS/IT experience with a minimum 5 years of experience in Solution or Enterprise Architecture
• Leadership and strong communication skills, strategic vision
• Capable of developing a 3-5 years strategic plan in line with the client's business objectives and available technologies.
• Ability to translate customer needs into technological vision;
• 5 years experience as architect;
• Capable of making complex technological design incorporating all technological aspects
• Understanding of the following concepts / solutions:
• Monitoring / Event Management (SMS, Tivoli, SNMP, SiteScope, SCOM, SMARTS);
• NAS, SAN Storage - Veritas Storage Foundation;
• Backup and Archiving (Veritas NetBackup, Tivoli TSM, etc.
• Unix / Linux - Solaris Unix - AIX - (Veritas Clustering);
• Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Networks (LAN), Wireless Network technologies and protocols);
• Network Security Technologies (FW, SecurID);
• EMS / VA Tools Log Analysis, NIDS, HIDS, VPN, Authentication);
• Identity Management;
• Databases (SQL, Oracle, Sybase);
• Citrix, Windows- Microsoft Clustering, VMware (ESX), DRP, MS Exchange; Oracle Virtualization
• Desktop windows operating systems (Windows / Unix), desktop virtualization and application virtualization technologies;
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)

• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in English

• High level of analytical ability to deal with complex problems
• Responsible for solutions delivered by projects which can exceed 1 million dollars

• Strong competency in the efficient and effective use of solution design supporting applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Visio
• Undergraduate degree required in computer science, engineering, or related discipline with an information technology focus or equivalent work experience
• Relevant manufacturer technical certification in Wintel servers (hardware / software) would be an asset
