Your future duties and responsibilities:

As a Software Asset Management Consultant, you will work alongside a wide variety of clients to support them with service solutions throughout the software lifecycle management. We are now seeking to develop a small team of specialists within the practice that will focus specifically on the adoption of SAM as an ongoing business practise:

• Validating the customers current SAM strategy,
• Assessing the operating model and process framework to implement it,
• Verifying the design of new solutions,
• Reviewing and assessing transition plans, developing new plans where needed
• Supporting the acceptance into service (transition to operations)
• Support the on-going development of SAM offerings, identifying Business Development opportunities to drive SAM services sales growth
• Provide input into consultancy bids – proposal writing, solution design, costing
• Carry out assignments on client sites to augment their SAM capability for a
specific project, such as tooling validation and implementation
• Process design, workflow simulation, performance improvements and helping to define key roles
and responsibilities as part of target operating model design
• Continually develop and improve our consultancy tools and process collateral

We draw on practical experience – our own and from CGI’s delivery to a broad client base – and use real world examples and operational subject matter experts to underpin our messages and recommendations.

Key technology / process areas include:

• Software Asset Management
• Complex Licensing models across Tier 1 and Tier 2 Software Publishers
• Discovery and Entitlements to perform reconciliations
• Software Compliance engagements
• SAM Discovery Tools implementation and ratification of outputs

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• In depth knowledge and understanding of Software Asset Management Processes and Principles.
• Being able to work with customers, suppliers and technical staff to support the end to end clear understanding of a client’s Licensing position and supporting them in mitigating both financial and legal risk.
• In depth working knowledge of software licensing across Tier 1 Software Publishers
• Ability to compile accurate Effective Licensing Positions (ELP) across multiple Software Publishers in association with reporting from multiple data sources.
• Experience of IT Asset Management discovery tools (e.g. SCCM, Flexera, Snow)
• Have exceptional communication and presentation skills covering both technical and business
concepts to bring the client on a transformation journey

• IT Asset Management or Software Asset Management qualification or significant progress towards the qualification
• Experience of the SAM Maturity Assessment process to assess client issues and present on key challenges and recommendations.
• Experience of the monetisation of the step changes within the SAM Maturity Assessment process to help deliver ROI to the customer
