Position Description:

CGI has an immediate need for Automation Programmer Analysts / Test Engineers to join our life sciences practice area. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest leaders in the pharmaceutical industry. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies.

As an Automation Programmer Analyst / Test Engineer, you will act as a key participant in application analysis, test strategy development, test execution, defect tracking, and reporting. The candidate must have demonstrated experience in application development and automation test management, an understanding of best practices, SDLC Scrum and Agile methodologies, as well as strong problem-solving abilities and leadership skills.

Your future responsibilities:
• Interacting with the IT and Business Teams by actively participating in requirement/design reviews, providing input on completeness of functional & technical requirements, design elements and schedules
• Researching, recommending and establishing best practices in manual and automated testing to encourage well-documented and reproducible testing results
• Preparing for executing, developing and delivering automated testing solutions in a fast-paced automated Scrum based Sprints (e.g., Test Protocols, Test Cases)
• Developing and executing integration, system, and regression testing of software, with an emphasis on automation (batch and real-time), where possible
• Practicing automation development efficiency, maintainability and reusability
• Collaborate with CGI cross-functional teams to analyse, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions.
• Developing automated test suites to ensure quality standards are met, using any of the following tools, such as: Selenium, Cucumber, QTP, Automation Anywhere
• Identifying task dependencies, test schedules, and the utilization of test environments, for both Agile and Waterfall based projects and implementing testing activities while maintaining high quality execution
• ""Hands-on"" technical skills are paramount. Application design and development experience is a plus.
• Programming knowledge and experience, Java, Java Script, XML, JSON, APIs and scripting skills are highly desirable.
• BPM Familiarity with Appian tools or other BPM platforms
• Experience working with networking, SQL Oracle databases
• Monitoring the completion of tasks within time and cost constraints and ensuring that technical and functional objectives are met
• Collecting and reporting test results and status by communicating to key stakeholders on a regular basis
• Troubleshooting problems during test execution
• Assessing readiness and deviation of project performance based on test results
• Identifying areas of improvement across the program

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Bachelor Degree.
• 5+ years IT experience
• Experience in applying test automation
• Experience in developing test cases using automation tools
• Experience with testing and defect management tools, such as ALM and JIRA
• Experience in implementing automation frameworks (e.g., batch, real-time) from scratch
• Experience managing test data including creation and mining using data management tools
• Knowledge of test processes and methodologies
• Experience in TDD (Test Driven Development)
• Programming knowledge and experience, Java, Java Script, XML, JSON, APIs and scripting skills are highly desirable.
• Exposure and familiarity to SDLC, Agile and Waterfall models
• Familiarity with BPM platform such as Appian or any other process automation tool
• Experience leading and mentoring a team of multiple testers
• Performance and Regression testing and analysis experience
• Strong skills in SQL, Oracle, MS-Access (DBMS Packages/Procedures and Functions)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter/Self-directed with the ability to work independently
