Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS and Python)

Position Description:

We are looking for an expert AWS Python Cloud Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting, deploying, and maintaining our cloud-based Amazon Web Services and, occasionally, other technologies. You will collaborate with other teams to ensure that our cloud environment meets all requirements.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, implementation, and growth of the AWS cloud infrastructure
• Build, release and lead configurations of production systems
• A DevOps and CI/CD enthusiast who will promote a culture and an environment which unites Agile with continuous delivery, integration, monitoring and automation to help development and operations teams be more efficient, innovate faster, and deliver higher value
• Work alongside architecture and engineering teams to craft and implement any scalable software services
• Ensure vital system security by using outstanding cloud security solutions
• Stay updated with new technology options and vendor products, evaluating which ones would be best suitable for the organization
• Implement continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines when required
• Recommend process and architecture improvements

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 6+ years validated experience working in cloud environment
• Clear understanding of core AWS services/concepts such as IAM, S3, Cloud watch, Lambda, Step functions, Boto3 SDK
• Experienced in developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based applications using AWS Lambda preferably with Python
• Proficient in using AWS service APIs, AWS CLI, PowerShell and SDKs to write applications as well as crafting and maintaining infrastructure as code in AWS
• Proficient in CI/CD pipeline tooling [e.g. AWS Code Deploy, AWS Code pipeline, Jenkins etc]
• Good Linux scripting skills
• Generates technical specification document to communicate design and build options
• Must have worked on projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies

Nice to have Skills:
• Awareness of AWS Well architected framework pillars
• Support security standard methodology's implementation, alignment to ISO 27001 compliance, and CIS benchmarks
• Experience with migrating Python applications from v 3.6 to 3.9 or above
• Experience in the business technology market and expertise in working closely with sales and marketing teams in cloud computing or related technical fields

Preferred qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (or above) in either Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Mathematics or Finance related field

Location: Lafayette, LA or Lebanon, VA.
