Position Description:

A seasoned storage engineer must be able to work in cross-functional environments and interact with representatives from CGI, NetApp, and our end-clients. End Clients are scattered throughout North America and may require on site, hybrid or remote remote options. Will work at various CGI and client sites consulting and executing various engineering initiatives from administration, configuration, deployments, migrations, supporting storage environments, and more.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Ability to understand and convey customer needs and your recommendations to other storage professionals
• Translating requirements into technical and systems specifications, configurations
• Providing technical analysis to ensure solutions are operationally sound
• Expert technical capabilities with a wide array of NetApp Suite of Products, Third Party Applications & Tools, SANS, NAS, EMC, Cisco, Nexus, Linux and other systems
• Performing complex technical work which will include administration, configuration, deployments, proof of concepts, documentation, and working with infrastructure (storage, network and servers) in some technical capacity.
• Provide various levels of 1st, 2nd and 3rd tier support
• Present technical solutions and ideas to Engineering and Operations teams
• Ability to run and document testing completed on NetApp hardware & Software suites
• Participate in the evaluation of new technologies and releases for Storage
• Fully document technical solutions to include, logical and physical system diagrams, data flow diagrams, test plans, and as-built diagrams.

Additional Responsibilities and expectations

• Provide Professional IT Consulting, assisting the customer with Digital Transformation.
• Develop and deliver technical training to different business units within the customers organization.
• Provide pre-sales technical expertise through technical and product presentations, product demonstrations, RFIs/RFPs, proof of concepts, consistent communication, and on-going technical consultation.
• Work with pre-sales teams to tailor customer centric solutions to ensure immediate and long-term storage needs are met to address strategic and operational goals.
• Scope technical solutions required to address customer requirements and needs, and provide solutions that optimize business value.
• Design technical implementations and architectures of FC SAN, NAS, and Cloud storage solutions offerings including processes, policies, and deployment practices.
• Responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and monitoring an organization’s storage infrastructure according to best practice to ensure important levels of data quality and availability.
• Provide solutions design and implementation services for backup and recovery, high availability storage architecture, and data replication for disaster recovery.
• Provide performance analysis & troubleshooting.
• Plan and deliver large-scale data migrations.
• Strong problem resolution skills including the ability to drive problem and problem bridges.
• Effectively communicate with internal customers, peers, and managers regarding storage administration issues.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Metro Cluster deployment and advance configuration is a requirement.
• StorageGrid Deployment and Ontap Fabric Pool is a requirement
• Scripting skills, automation experience, and familiar with container are desired skills
• OCI/CI is desired skill as well+A18
• NetApp Certified Data Administrator, Data ONTAP
• NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer – SAN Specialist, ONTAP
• NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer – Data Protection Specialist, ONTAP
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as collaboration skills
• Skill set familiarity: NetApp Technologies: C-DOT, ONTAP, 7Mode, MetroCluster, StorageGrid, OnCommand, Python/Powershell, Ansible, Storage Products, Perl, Unix, HP, EMC, Cisco, AWS, Cloud, DevOps
• Experience with fast paced Global financials customers
• Thorough knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems
• Understanding of NIS, DFS, CIFS, NFS and AD concepts
• Experience in storage capacity planning
• Experience in storage monitoring
• Familiar with NetApp tools, such as HWU, SmartSolve, ActiveIQ and OCI
• Experience working on projects for data migration, storage monitoring, and/or new application deployment initiatives
• Experience in working knowledge of storage, cloud, infrastructure, and enterprise operation systems environments
• Strong Problem Solving & Analytical Skills

• Customer affinity and the ability to build relationships across multiple levels. This person needs to become a trusted advisor

Minimum Education Required: Associates Degree

Est. Salary Range (Colorado Only): $90,000-$130,000*
