systems that make the everyday easier.
Your duties and responsibilities:
You will provide application support and Database Administration to our key clients on a VLDB with multiple partitioning strategies. This typically comprises Application Support to identify data anomalies and code defects; PL/SQL and SQL statement tuning; Application releases and deployments together with Database Administration; Capacity Planning; Performance Monitoring and Tuning. You will react to and resolve incidents via Remedy (ITSM) call management system with strict SLA deadlines and perform planned releases both in and out of core business hours supporting a bespoke application.
Required experience to be successful in this role:
You will have thorough experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer, Support Analyst or DBA. Good knowledge of PL/SQL is a must; exposure to Oracle partitioning, RAC, Dataguard and RMAN would be advantageous. The database is Oracle 11g running on Unix.
Suitable training can be provided and Oracle Certification would be encouraged.
This position would suit either an experienced PL/SQL Developer/Support Analyst who would like exposure to Oracle Database Administration; or as an all-round Oracle database specialist who does not mind a challenge and would like to work on something big!
The applicant must be Security cleared to SC level, and must be willing, and able to be, cleared through the National Non-Police Personnel Vetting process.
- Occasional evening and weekend work for support activities is required
- SC & NPPV3 Clearance is essential. These can be progressed by the project but will need to be in place before starting the role
- Eligibility and willingness to apply for further clearance as required by the project
