Functional analyst / business analyst

Your future duties and responsibilities
(May include some of the activities mentioned below, depending on whether the role is more functional or business)

In interactions with customers or users:
- Organize and schedule :
o Functional or business requirements gathering sessions and during these sessions, be able to identify, document and validate the needs and requirements related to the request
o Workshops and/or training sessions to introduce new functionalities or to prepare a new user base
- Advise and assist clients or users in the use of the systems and communicate best practices to them.

In interactions with the development team:
- Translate functional needs into technical requirements.
- Answer questions from the team on the needs expressed in the analysis documents. Adjust the documentation accordingly if additional information proves to be of added value to the overall understanding of the initial analysis
- Participate in quality control activities (work process review, impact analysis, cost/benefit analysis, etc.)

In its requirements documentation activities and additional contribution to projects and evolutions:
- Participate in project and evolution planning activities. Including cost and risk assessment and development of performance indicators.
- Document or specify the objectives of projects or solutions, based on user needs and understanding of business processes, their added value or expected benefits
- Evaluate and validate the effectiveness of a solution in relation to the needs and requirements;
- Analyze the client's systems in order to understand their strengths and weaknesses, identify opportunities for improvement and when relevant, make recommendations
- Produce the various business or functional deliverables required
- Communicate and present the solution


Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Requirements :
- Strong learning ability
- Ability to work in a team
- Concern for quality
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Good initiative and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel
- Bilingual, oral and written (French and English) - Ability to be verbally "efficient" with both languages
- Very good communication skills and be able to maintain good customer relations
- Ability to structure and lead multi-disciplinary and multi-level stakeholder meetings

Strengths:
- Consulting skills
- Certification in business analysis, CBAP or PMI-PBA an asset

Professional Experience :
- 2 years of experience in an analyst role (IT)
- Experience in software implementation
- Traditional and agile development methodologies
