Position Description:

The Senior Information Security Engineer shall have the overall responsibility of conducting the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities using and managing the governance, risk management and compliance tool.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

o Demonstrable information risk management experience in environments similar to the AOC, including secure communications-computer operational architectures, procedures and environments; network and system security risk analyses; system authorization; security test and evaluation; and information security.
o Evaluating and implementing Information Assurance and Information Security tools for assessing and maintaining system security to support system development and integration;
o Intensive and progressive experience performing appropriate analyses to ensure threat assessments, and protection, detection and reaction functions are performed;
o Specialized experience managing or implementing Government and/or private industry information security, communications-computer systems security and industrial security policies and procedures;
o Knowledge of developing standardized assessment and authorization processes in accordance with security industry policy and maintaining established assessment baselines;
o Experience in managing, responding to and resolving crisis situations caused by network and system attacks;
o Experience developing and maintaining firewall rule sets and router access control lists;
o Intensive and progressive experience configuring and managing network and security devices and facilities to include bridges, routers, controllers, firewalls, gateways, communications devices, network and security monitoring and management tools;
o Experience and skills with Center for Internet Security configuration guidelines from various sources, e.g., National Security Agency (NSA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

The Senior-Information Security Engineer shall have the following required skills / experience:
• Experience doing A&A assessments in the legislative branch or CISSP, CISA, or CISM certifications or equivalent experience;
• Eight years of general work experience / six years relevant “functional” in an Enterprise IT environment performing Assessment and Authorization Tasks;
• Expert ability in performing A&A Tasks using the governance risk management and compliance (Xacta, RSAM, Archer, Tenable and Trusted Agent) automated tools;
• Technically competent with Microsoft Office Suite and Visio; and
• Eight years of general work experience / six years relevant “functional” in an Enterprise IT environment developing Assessment and Authorization documentation with cloud, on premise and industrial control systems.
• In addition, the Senior Information Security Officer (SISO) shall provide information security expertise and leadership to the AOC enterprise. The SISO, at a minimum, shall have the following experience and skills:
