We need an Oracle DBA to join our team on one of our flagship programmes within our UK Central Government business unit working on projects that have a real positive impact on UK citizens’ lives. Your future duties and responsibilities:

This position is for an experienced client facing Oracle DBA to work within the bid and project team supporting the migration of services from one data centre provider to another on one of our flagship accounts that helps protect UK citizens. You will work alongside the account CTO, Project Solution Owner, Architects, BAs and SMEs to gain an understanding of the clients’ services and solutions with specific responsibility for the migration of data and databases between the 2 providers. This role demands the candidate to have strong planning, communication and presentation skills, the capability to identify solutions and be proficient in data migration projects.

Other key duties will include
• Due diligence activities
• Document & design the migration approach
• Support the data & database migration
• Assistance and advice with application migration

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

You need to be able to demonstrate competency and experience in as many of the following as possible;
• Oracle Database expert
• Experience of supporting 11.2 Grid Infrastructure
• Experience with large critical systems
• Experience of supporting multiple 10g and 11g RAC & Single Instance databases running on Solaris/RedHat; multi-terabyte; OLTP/OLAP setup
• Experience supporting middleware technology such as Oracle Application Server 9iAS, eBusiness Suite (Oracle Applications 11i, using both Forms and Self-Service)
Desirable skills include
• Strong organisational skills; keep track of multiple, complex time-critical activities; attention to detail
• The ability to work effectively with remote and virtual teams
• The ability to work with technical and business stakeholders
• A good understanding of software testing principles
• Enthusiastic team participation with strong communication and the ability to multitask
