Position Description:

Join this multifaceted organization as a Developer. With your expertise, you will work with a hard-working team to consult and develop solutions for a major client. You will support and work well with the client daily with a focus across the organization. You will have the opportunity to show/grow with technology in a customer-facing role. You should be able to work independently under limited supervision and apply your knowledge. You should have sufficient knowledge and maturity to efficiently look after business needs and technical issues and help to support the broader team. Your success will be directly related to CGI’s and our client’s success.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications for IBMi / Power systems using High level programming languages.

Coding the MC400 application

Rocket Software LegaSuite

Design, modify, develop and implement database objects on DB2 for IBMi using high level languages like DB2 SQL for IBMi and tools like iSeries Navigator for I;

Perform and/or Support installs of software applications / operating systems on IBMi / Power systems;

Develop/maintain software applications implemented on IBMi using tools like Change Management, SEU, Aldon source control, IBM Rational Developer for IBMi (IBM RDi), IBM iAccess, iSeries Navigator;

Use SDLC process expertise in requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, application architecture and testing based on Waterfall/Agile/Scrum methodologies;

Participate in the testing process through test review and analyze, test witness and certify software built on IBMi and its peripherals;

Provide Scope and estimate of projects for IBMi,

Write technical, System and Release documentation adhering to quality processes and coding standards; fixes complex problems related to software built on IBM Power systems / IBMi and Peripheral systems built on Windows;

Work on multiple software development and improvements of projects with varying deadlines; Coordinate work with business, QA and other teams including offshore Development;

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

- Experience in high level programming languages in RPG, RPG Free, SQLRPGLE, SQL, PL/SQL, CL

- Web technologies like XML, WSDL

- Scripting languages like QSHELL

- Knowledge of MC400 product and coding

- Knowledge and experience of LegaSuite (Rocket Software)

- DB2 SQL for IBMi and tools like iSeries Navigator for IBMi (to create database objects on DB2)


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- Experience with installing software applications in IBMi /Power Systems

- Knowledge in Change management, SEU, Aldon source control, IBM Rational Developer for IBMi (IBM RDi), IBM iAccess, iSeries Navigator to develop/maintain software

- Experience in Agile/waterfall/Scrum.

- Testing Experience – test review, analysis, test witnessing and certification

- Estimation knowledge for IBMi projects

- Write technical, systems and release documentation

- Coordinate work between business, QA and other teams

Educational Expectations: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,300 - $146,900.
