Position Description:

Our Tribe is gathering. Join our Agile team and transform businesses and the lives of UK citizens. As an experienced DevOps Engineer, you can join a high-profile initiative within CGI – being part of a key group using Agile, DevOps and Lean practices to help clients realise their digital transformation ambitions.

Across the Commercial and Government sectors, CGI is supporting and leading this transformation. As part of our Agile Digital Services team, you will help empower clients to increase business agility and deliver greater value, early and incrementally.

CGI was voted ‘Best Workplace’ by Great Place To Work in 2021, and offers a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3% + 3% matching) which makes you a member, not just an employee.

You must already hold, or be prepared to undergo, National Security Vetting (NSV) enhanced Security Check (SC) level.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll be familiar working in a cross-functional Agile delivery team. You will be keen to contribute within your role, and by assisting others, sharing knowledge and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.

You’ll design, build and deploy development tools and application infrastructure within public cloud environments. Working closely with other engineers, you will automate and improve how the team delivers software, ensuring that quality is built in at every step.

A CGI career within our Agile Tribe will let you stand out, influence and shape a UK team, backed by one of the largest independent technology and business services companies in the world.

You’ll also discover:

● A unique level of variety across different clients and industry sectors
● High-profile, interesting and challenging projects to stretch your skills
● Training and support
● Impactful work that makes a real difference in our communities

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

● Software development experience in an Agile environment – familiar with Scrum, Kanban or SAFe
● Infrastructure as code and automation skills using technologies like Ansible, Terraform or CloudFormation
● Experience with secure cloud infrastructure – AWS, Azure or GCP
● Experience with technologies including Docker, Kubernetes
● Linux and Windows OS experience, including scripting
● Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and tools – e.g. Jenkins, SonarQube, GitLab
● Experience with monitoring and data analytics tools such as ELK stack, Prometheus, InfluxDB, Grafana
● A good understanding of distributed systems

Our working approach is built around our clients’ needs. That’s not to say yours aren’t important too and in a post-pandemic world, we want to extend the offer of an open discussion to you as to whether a role can be office or home-based, flexible or hybrid.

We celebrate and reward our colleagues through a variety of methods, and we promote the health and well-being of our members through a range of programmes and activities. We are also committed to ensuring a safe work environment through the prevention of harmful workplace incidents including physical harm, harassment and violence.

Unconditionally inclusive – we know diversity brings a greater variety of ideas, perspectives and experiences to the workplace. We actively encourage diversity at CGI and inclusivity is one of our top priorities, with support networks for Parents, Women, LGBT+, BAME, Neurodiversity and Disability.
