We're expanding our Team in Western Canada and we need your skills, enthusiasm, and dedication as part of our team. We are currently searching for a Senior Wintel Administrator with the right mix of technical and soft skills for an opportunity with our Global Technology Operations team.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

As a member of our team, you will be working within Operations Support and on several projects within the business. This role will require communication and interaction with multiple internal and external clients to ensure projects meet client requirements and delivered on time. Your responsibilities will include:
• Day-to-day support of the server environment in our datacenters and in our client’s environments. This includes problem ticket handling, configuration changes as required, working with other support teams to troubleshoot issues, and supporting the patching processes
• Review and implement designs to specifications that meet or exceed established business and technical design requirements, approved architecture and technical standards, quality assurance, service levels, and continuous improvement goals.
• Participate in Architecture Review Board meetings to peer review and provide feedback, recommendations, required actions and approvals for design documents
• Look for ways to improve the infrastructure environment in regards to security, stability and sustainability.
• Evaluate technical deviations from current standards, present technical deviation recommendations to stakeholders, and provide approval for deviations
• Provide mentorship to junior and operations staff helping to resolve issues as required.
• Bring a solid understanding of current best practices and industry standards
• Participate in root cause analysis of high priority (P1 & P2) operational failures; incorporate learnings into solution designs to prevent future failures.
• Work within Operations to ensure delivered solutions are supportable, serviceable and meet business requirements & SLA’s.
• Ensure changes to existing services are made in a controlled manner: i.e. include impact assessment in consultation with the business and technical owners, regression testing of any impacted systems, and planned migration into production

As required:
• Install, configure and troubleshoot infrastructure, applications and software.
• Implement and document system administration procedures for Operations coverage and end users
• Maintain and update standards in configurations and optimize system designs.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Essential qualifications
• 8+ years of progressive Enterprise IS/IT experience with a minimum 5 years of experience in Wintel operations support in Enterprise environments
• Enterprise class Windows Server operating systems 2003-2016 and supporting hardware (physical and virtual), software and tools
• Windows 10 planning / design / deployment
• Experience with eMessaging and collaboration solutions including Exchange and Teams, including mobility / mobile device management solutions.
• Citrix products and technologies including XenApp, XenDesktop, Xenmobile, and Sharefile
• A good understanding of Hypervisors (in particular VMware) and virtualization of Operating Systems, networks, and storage from a design perspective
• A good understanding of High Availability solutions such as clustering, load balancing, and replication

• Responsible for solutions delivered by projects which can exceed 1 million dollars

• Strong competency in the efficient and effective use of solution design supporting applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Visio
• Undergraduate degree required in computer science, engineering, or related discipline with an information technology focus or equivalent work experience
• Relevant manufacturer technical certification in Wintel servers (hardware / software) would be an asset
