Position Description:

Are you motivated as a Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to work on Europe’s own global satellite system and currently consists of a constellation of 22 satellites? As a DBA, making a contribution in Space it happens at CGI!

Your day-to-day activities
As a DBA on our team, you will be working on a Mission Critical System that is part of the Galileo infrastructure. Galileo is Europe’s own global satellite system and currently consists of a constellation of 22 satellites. It is capable of providing a highly accurate, guaranteed global positioning service under civilian control. Your work will contribute to the security aspects and data protection of this navigation mission. The system is characterized by a high level of complexity. Your work will contribute to the security aspects and data protection of this navigation mission. You will take responsibility for designing and implementing Database solutions, including backups, security, archive and purge functionalities and (PL)SQL scripting. Currently, Oracle is the preferred solution including Oracle Data Guard and the Oracle Virtual Environment.

What you need to be succesful in this role?
The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong capability in PLSQL, SQL and bash, and experience with various Oracle solutions and the infrastructure needs supporting them. We are seeking someone who is well-organized, energetic and with a high level of attention to detail to join our team in The Netherlands, in Rotterdam.

The role includes following elements:
• Designing and implementing Database solutions
• Working with Linux to script the procedures surrounding the Oracle Database
• Supporting the development team with creating and reviewing PLSQL and SQL scripts

Essential qualifications
• Quick learner, ability to quickly get acquainted with complex systems.
• Experience with Oracle Database and Data Guard
• Experience with PLSQL, SQL and Bash scripting
• Inquisitive, able to investigate technical problems and diagnose
• Experience with virtualization
• You have demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills in English whilst
   working in a team.

** Eligibility by holding a EU passport is mandatory for an EU Personal Security
   Clearance at the level of CONFIDENTIAL and is part of the selection procedure.

Your working environment
With almost 40 years in the industry, CGI Space is a growing business with exciting projects and prospects across the Navigation, Security, Earth Observation and SATCOM domains. We currently have around 500 members working on projects in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands. You will get the opportunity to work for the Galileo programme. Galileo is Europe’s own global navigation satellite system and will consist of 24 satellites and 6 spares in orbit. It is capable of providing a highly accurate, guaranteed global positioning service under civilian control. The system is still under development and has recently entered the Exploitation Phase.
