The Senior Java Application Architect will provide the professional services to perform the following tasks and deliver the following project deliverables, first in draft format, to be followed by a final product incorporating comments of the project managers (or their delegates).

Your future duties and responsibilities:

•Walk through and document best practices to implement a high performance, high volume and high availability service based on Service Oriented Architecture
•Identify and document gaps between industry best practices and current service implementations
•Design and model a high performance, high volume and high availability query service based on industry best practices within the constraints of the existing infrastructure
•Provide guidelines, and best practices for the JAVA based services detail design documents in order to confirm or identify implementation approach;
•Develop industry best practices for solution implementation, integration, and operation in production;
•Perform defect analysis and create new requirements as required;
•Review, modify and update service or solution design, as necessary;
•Provide guidelines, standards and best practices for the possible integration with ESB-IIB
•Provide regularly scheduled knowledge transfer sessions to CBSA application support team
•Provide ad hoc assistance and guidance to the Fuzzy Search development team
•Prepare performance test cases and provide input to test plans to validate final designs in collaboration with the Fuzzy Search team

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

•Minimum of five years’ experience, within the last ten years, in designing High Availability Systems* with a design towards Disaster Recovery**.
*High Availability System is defined as a system available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with only scheduled outages.
**Disaster Recovery is defined as restoring operation after a failure, outage disaster, or restoring an alternative service when necessary; in the shortest possible time.
•3 years’ experience, within the last seven years, in providing analysis to define system functionality using Unified Modeling Language (UML).
•3 years’ experience, within the last seven years, in analyzing and supporting development in an Integrated Enforcement Enrolment* or Risk Assessment Functionality**.
•3 years’ experience, within the last seven years, working on projects that required interaction and coordination with other teams in order to deliver the desired result.
