Position Description:

Our team is responsible for the infrastructure environments and services for several large clients, and we are looking for a Senior Architect to join the team. Your future duties and responsibilities:

CGI is looking for a senior infrastructure architect to join our team to lead various aspects of Cloud, storage, and UNIX/Linux projects including the design and planning of migrations from old platforms to new. The candidate will augment the existing team to provide technical leadership and architectural support to client projects.

Your future duties and responsibilities include:
• Deliver solutions, specifications and work plans that meet or exceed established business and technical design requirements, approved architecture and technical standards, quality assurance, service levels, and continuous improvement goals.
• Look for ways to improve the infrastructure environment in regards to security, stability and sustainability.
• Provide mentorship to junior and operations staff helping to resolve issues as required.
• Bring a solid understanding of current best practices and industry standards
• Participate in root cause analysis of high priority (P1 & P2) operational failures; incorporate learnings into solution designs to prevent future failures.
• Support the Technical Design Authority:
o Participate in Technical Assurance Review meetings – providing review feedback, recommendations, required actions, and approvals.
o Ensure solution designs are compliant with target architectures and standards and meet stated functional and non-functional requirements
o Build, review and maintain technical standards in conjunction with Operations and Enterprise Architecture.
o Evaluate technical deviations from current standards, present technical deviation recommendations to stakeholders, and provide final approval for all technical deviations.
o Research select and deploy the best applicable technology for systems development/maintenance and production Operations
• Identify impacts to existing infrastructure capacity
• Evaluate non-functional characteristics including performance, availability, scalability, resilience
• Review environments for production and non-production (development, test, QA, training) and provide recommendations for on-going improvement and sustainability
• Work with Operations to ensure delivered solutions are supportable, serviceable and meet business requirements & SLA’s.
• Interface with various stakeholders (i.e.: Project Managers, Client Delivery Managers, Designers & Architects, etc) regarding strategic direction and roadmaps
• Very good understanding of networks, servers, security services, databases and other infrastructure and application systems that integrate/interface with Storage and Data Protection systems

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Essential Requirements:
• 10+ Years of progressive IS/IT experience, with 5 years experience in Solution Architecture
• Expert knowledge and experience in Storage, UNIX/Linux and Cloud architecture and design
• Expert knowledge and understanding of complex infrastructure environments
• Expert knowledge of security concepts and solutions
• Expert troubleshooting skills and critical thinking
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Capable of developing 3-5 year strategic plans in line with the client's business objectives and available technologies.
• Ability to translate customer needs into technological vision
Professional Requirements:
• Strong customer service skills are a must, both in-person and over the phone
• A strong team work ethic is required
• Highly organized with strong time management skills
• Thought leadership surrounding issues and observations in the environment
• Initiative, autonomy and a strong sense of urgency

Desired Requirements:
• Vendor certifications (Azure, AWS, Storage) are an asset
