Position Description:

Seeking a technically competent and results oriented individual for the position of Network Architect.

The network administrator is part of a core group of technical professionals that are responsible for managing and supporting the IT infrastructure in CGI Data Centre environments. The network administrator will be responsible for network related deployment, support and management.

The successful candidate will be joining an enthusiastic team that is eager to share knowledge and experience. Day to day challenges are shared with the team during weekly knowledge enhancement sessions which have proven to enrich the overall technical expertise of the team.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
• Delivery of projects from a network implementation standpoint
• Respond quickly and effectively to network issues, incidents, and outages
• Resolving 3rd line network related incident support calls
• Provide mentoring to develop more junior members of the team
• Evaluating network change requests
• Perform system maintenance and upgrade tasks
• Use and configure network monitoring tools to identify and address issues before service degradation occurs
• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, processes, and procedures
• Action tickets in the Network Operations Team’s queues in accordance with company-defined best practice
• Delivery of BAU project work and user requests
• Evaluating network performance issues
• Keep abreast of developments in networking and network monitoring
Identifying opportunities for service improvement via automation or procedural change

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Qualifications:
Essential Technical Requirements
To be successful in this role we would expect you to have in-depth industry experience with:
• Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching technologies
• Cisco ASR and ISR routing platforms
• BGP and OSPF
• Wireless LAN technologies
• Working within a helpdesk / support environment, dealing with customer issues through to resolution
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of monitoring & reporting systems

You must also be able to demonstrate hands-on experience with:
• WAN optimisation technologies
• Quality of Service functionality
• SD-WAN technologies

• SolarWinds
• Thousand Eyes
• Cisco ISE
• Microsoft NPS


Behavioural Competencies
• Proven experience of delivering process efficiencies and improvements
• Clear and fluent English (both verbal and written)
• Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships with remote teams
• Demonstrate ability to take ownership of and accountability for relevant products and services
• Ability to plan, prioritise and complete your own work, whilst remaining a team player
• Willingness to engage with and work in other technologies

Other requirement:

- Ability to obtain government clearance- Enhanced Reliability to Secret level
