Your day-to-day activities
What all our customers have in common is that they need to modernize and transform their services and Risk Management operations to keep up with what consumers and regulators expect and ensure their long term financial health. Based on your skills and ambitions, you will work on varied assignments that are interesting for your development. The assignments take place at customer locations in the Randstad, with a focus on the Amsterdam region.
As a Senior Principal Consultant Credit Risk & ALM you work with a high degree of independence and autonomy. You are an experienced Risk consulting professional and as a member of a team of +/- 15 colleagues you make the difference in assignments for your client. The current team has a primary focus on regulatory implementations across all business and IT disciplines. Examples of the most common assignments with our customers are:
• Formulating policy following changes in regulations and / or internal risk assessments
• Advising on Risk Management internal policies, process & controls in line with existing
and new regulatory requirements e.g. Basel IV, Interbank Offered Rates
(IBOR) reforms, Sustainable Finance regulations, Taxonomy Regulation (EU Action Plan
on Financing Sustainable Growth); ECB guide on climate-related and
environmental risks; Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation
• Assess, challenge and optimize Risk Management processes & systems and map
functional & technical requirements for IT solutions in the risk
management landscape – e.g.; data definitions & taxonomy, risk data
models, integration and quality
• Credit scoring model implementation
• Loan origination & authorization processes; probability of default / loss given default
model implementation, collateral management and loan loss provisioning
• Internal and external reporting process
• Streamline credit product management processes for standard and complex loan
products and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Analyze and further align Credit Risk and Finance data landscape and procedures
concerning data architecture / data integration / data governance, Risk &
Financial reporting processes
• Translate regulatory and internal policy requirements into high level technical requirements and lead technical implementation of risk models and processes
• Working in an Agile environment e.g. as Product Owner or senior solution architect with
mixed teams of CGI and client resources incl. business consultants,
software engineers, data architects and risk specialists
• Design training programs and training materials and deliver training and education in the
context of new Risk Management policies, procedures and / or tooling
• Advise clients on suitable IT solutions for e.g. risk management applications
• Structure and lead change processes across the risk function from a PMO function
What we are looking for
We are looking for a senior, experienced consultant with deep knowledge and expertise in commercial credit risk management (trade finance, vendor finance, leasing, corporate credits) and / or consumer credit risk management (mortgages, revolving credit). You have experience working as lead Product Owner or equivalent role leading the implementation and optimization of the processes and tooling for Credit Risk and Asset & Liability Management in a Banking context. You have worked in an external consultant or internal advisory capacity and have been exposed to or worked in an Agile or DevOps environment. You have strong affinity with and experience implementing domain-specific, cloud-based technology solutions and processes to support loan application, risk data collection & data management, model development & implementation, modelling execution, risk reporting and model governance. This should ideally include Azure native tools. You have helped FS-firms transition risk management capabilities to the cloud and address data issues head on, incl. establishing a robust data architecture, driving cross-BU data & modelling integration, enabling the point of origination to take responsibility for and safeguard data quality, working across business & IT to implement data governance, driving process automation and leveraging data analytics to reduce model risk and meet strategic and regulatory requirements. You have experience with executing operating model improvements in risk management e.g. removing manual inefficiencies and improving governance through automation; improving data management with new processes and dedicated data management teams; improve data lineage so that less time is spent on managing data; changing ways of working to DevOps and Agile frameworks; supporting innovation and the use of advanced analytics; implementing intuitive user interfaces & experience; improving documentation of risk systems and models; supporting governance and model management through robust controls and transparent workflows.
You have excellent communication skills. You know how to convince senior management and employees of the importance of policy choices. You are able to influence senior management in respect of decisions related risk management procedures and tooling. You enjoy giving presentations and training to roll out and establish new procedures and ways of working in the organization and to increase the business’ awareness of the importance of strong risk management. You have practical experience and affinity with industry-leading software solutions for financial risk management.
Further you have:
• Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant discipline
• Studied or completed relevant training & education
• Fluent in English; fluency in Dutch is an advantage
• At least 5 years of work experience as an external consultant or in an internal advisory /
line management role at a financial institution
