As a Director within one of our Secure Infrastructure Services sector you will be a leader with a primary goal of driving business growth across the Defence and Intelligence communities.

The Account Director is responsible for working in conjunction with their Secure Business Services Sub-Sector VP and Directors in developing the sales propositions from the very early stages and driving the sale through to successful conclusion.

You will have an excellent track record of business growth, and closing deals ranging from studies through Systems Integration to long term outsourcing contracts solutions (based on the consult, design, build, operate model).

Your focus will be driven by new business sales and closely aligned project change controls to drive significant multi-million (£) per year growth targets.

You will have a strong understanding of potential changes to the client and technical landscape, and be able to drive a strategy for the CGI account which will deliver a long-term, high-value revenue stream.

You will be located in the South / South West of England with clients near our Chippenham, Reading, Surrey and Gloucester offices.

All successful applicants must hold, or be eligible & willing to obtain, UK SC clearance with the view to progressing to higher level clearance if required.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

You will lead on CGI’s business growth activities across Secure Business Services; focussed on Defence Digital, Defence Equipment and Support, Defence Business Services, Cabinet Office, Strategic Command and Front Line Commands.

You will establish and build relationships and work with the clients’ business and the markets they operate in, seeking out and identifying new opportunities for CGI. This could include responding to RFIs/RFPs - ensuring at all times that CGI’s USP’s are brought to life in a manner that both excites and delights. Your excellent leadership skills will also be brought to bear in the management of the team where you will be responsible for fostering the development of the team’s capabilities and expertise in line with market evolution.

The primary emphasis is on the development of new business opportunities and maintain client development plans, leading a team to achieve targeted revenue and profitability and ensuring that sales pipeline and financial forecasts are up to date and accurate.

You will work closely with the VP and fellow Directors to develop, evolve and execute the account sales strategy and plans. This will include day-to-day involvement in all aspects of bids and other initiatives including key commercial agreements within the account (bid qualification, bid management, bid governance). Throughout this role, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction across the portfolio of existing and new business within the account is critical.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

We’re looking for a demonstrable track record in the sale and delivery of Managed Services, Systems Integration and Consulting projects into the UK Defence and Intelligence communities.

All candidates must offer in-depth knowledge of the UK Defence sector gained from an IT consulting environment, strong network of contacts, focus on customer outcomes and offer a proactive, “can do” attitude.

A track record of business growth (New Business Wins) within Defence / Government sectors (especially Application Services operating across secure, hybrid and public cloud services).
Capabilities of particular interest include Open Source products, Secure Applications Development, DevSecOps, Systems Integration, Cyber, Data Analytics, Cloud Services, Operational Service Management and more.

From a growth perspective, the achievement of significant growth within strategic accounts across the Defence is key, an individual strong on networking, prospecting and lead/pipeline generation.

The Director should be able to deal at C-suite level in client organisations and be adept at creating client development plans.
Other competencies in business development, deal shaping, bid management, account management and/or IT operational & delivery management are highly sought,
