Position Description:

We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and after 40 years, we're still growing! Join Canada's largest IT Company as a Senior project manager in our public Sector. The position is open for Ottawa.

Lead and oversee all project management aspects of the transformation projects.
Develop program/project charters, program/project plans and risk register and obtain approval
Produce other project management related deliverables as required by the project team (governance model, implementation plan, transition approach and plan, etc.)
Achieve program/project objectives by assigning resources and ensuring the collaboration of other teams
Manage program/project change requests
Develop and maintain program/project status dashboard
Report progress regularly to senior management and sponsors
Collaborate with project managers and project controllers to review resource assignments as well as project financials
Work with existing project team to enable and support the initiative (business analyst, change management, communications, etc.)
Collaborate with stakeholders and business partners to ensure understanding of client needs and support effective resolution of client inquiries and concerns
Provide advice and guidance to others on matters relating to project management practices and methodologies

Your future duties and responsibilities:

A completed college diploma or university degree, preferably in computer science, engineering or business
A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the field of IT
A minimum of (10) years of demonstrated experience as a Senior Project Manager in leading a project teams for large transformation projects.
Demonstrable application of PMBOK principles and methodology in project management, as well as experience managing Agile projects
Strong business acumen, including the ability to translate business needs into application solutions.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English, particularly in writing clear, concise documents for a technical audience
Good facilitation and problem resolution skills

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

SCRUM Master Certification will be considered a strong asset
PMP certification
Experience in coaching project teams of project management methodologies and approach
Experience in establishing effective and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders

Other Requirements
Existing Enhanced Reliability clearance and an ability to meet the requirements for Secret Clearance
English essential, French will be considered an asset
