Position Description:

This is a challenging technology position within the Global Estate Management team in an International Financial Institution. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will work with GM Estate Management team in support of platform migration activities. This position will assist in the timely delivery of services by applications teams and service vendors.
You will participate in client service delivery engagements by acting as a SME/technical expert, overseeing the successful implementation of the solution architecture.
This role will focus on establishing strong partnership with the DevOps, AppDev and Infrastructure Engineering delivery teams to deliver all related migration activities with the BOW scope.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

•Understand the operations budget, identify and execute short- and long-term cost reduction strategies
•Act as the technical liaison among the operations teams, engineers, architects and consumers of technology, providing critical operational insight to upcoming implementations and strategies, including validation of ongoing or upcoming solutions and their supportability
•Conduct governance reviews with stakeholders at all levels to develop a plan for continuous service improvement
•Maintain diplomacy and conviction in order to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from. others in sensitive situations while maintaining a strong relationship
•Analyze specifications and map to expertly-designed technology solutions
•Coordinate with delivery teams to mitigate risk, address technical challenges and remain within scoped timelines and budgets

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

•Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Equivalent area of study
•Industry Certification in relevant area is a plus
•Solid knowledge and experience with various computing platforms (HPC, VMware, and SPARC) and server operating systems (Windows, Linux and Solaris).
•Minimum 12 years of experience in IT industry in relevant area with at least 7 years in Banking/Financial Markets
•Expertise in Platform (Windows, Unix, Linux and AIX), Networking (LAN, WAN), Virtualization, Storage and Infrastructure Applications (AD, DNS, Messaging, Citrix, etc.) technologies is required
•Familiarity with ITIL and ITSM support processes and terminology
•Thorough understanding of the Infrastructure technology landscape at the SME level
•MS Project and MS Project Server project management experience
