We are seeking an experienced Agile Specialist to work on a high profile project for our Central Government client. You will be a strong communicator and influencer across multiple teams with a good track record of leading scrum teams to deliver successfully. You will work with a diverse team of developers, testers and business analysts, to turn product requirements into products using a sprint based approach to enable a fast and efficient delivery lifecycle.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

As an Agile Specialist, you will oversee all aspects of software development for one or more Agile teams. You’ll be responsible for planning, leading, organising, and motivating Agile teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in line with programme standards. You will also be responsible for software delivery using Agile methods in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business units.

In performing the role, you will be expected to use a high level of knowledge and experience of Agile development tools and techniques to fit large, complex, mission-critical, enterprise-level projects with the appropriate level of planning and to provide the right balance of Agility, predictability and pragmatism.

Your background in delivering multiple Agile projects will ensure that you are capable of managing teams, typically to deliver a specific product or transformation via a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled team. You will define delivery needs and enable resource to be appropriately allocated. You will be core to decisions that build high performing teams, where people are excited about the work they are undertaking. You will take ownership and accountability of establishing agile values, methods, principles and practices for the delivery of projects and products.

This role will involve extensive interaction with users, customers, senior stakeholders, management and third party sub-contractors. Strong analytical, organisational, and presentation skills are essential, combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to manage expectations and issues effectively and establish/maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
As well as the technical aspects of the role you will also be expected to manage Agile teams on a daily basis or as required; assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organisational resources to improve capacity for project work; ensuring team members track their time using the appropriate systems; and mentoring and developing team members.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

As an Agile Specialist you will need to demonstrate experience as a Delivery Manager or Scrum Master in a client facing team, successfully implementing software development projects using Agile methodologies, managing projects of medium size and complexity in a high-tech development environment with cross functional teams.

A key part of your role will be collaborating with the technical team members across Development, Testing and DevOps. You will require a sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to teams and to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues.
You will have solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as good knowledge of Agile project management principles, practices and experience overseeing multi-function project teams. You should ideally have a track record of successful delivery of at least one large, complex Agile project and two medium-sized projects working as an integral part of the delivery team. You must be flexible and pragmatic in your approach.
You will have the skills and ability to promote empowerment of the team, ensuring each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encouraging a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team.
