Position Description:

CGI is seeking an experienced Systems Architect/Engineer to join in our CGI team. This role will be helping to shape the high-level technical vision in alignment with business delivery objectives, and provide technology leadership guidance for large complex efforts that involves legacy application modernization, continuous systems and infrastructure innovation, incremental business solutions implementation and value delivery.

You should possess strong technical background and hands-on experience that demonstrates continuous technical innovation and increasing responsibilities in the area of application development, infrastructure operations, solutions architecture and implementation for enterprise level systems.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Work closely with business stakeholders and program portfolio management to drive the creation and management of a portfolio backlog and build out the Architectural Runway

• Support the assessment of current architectures, recommend future architectures, conduct gap analysis, and document roadmap for incremental realization of the architectural evolution plan

• Identify and recommend strategic technical initiatives and defining the architectural vision in alignment with business delivery objectives and technology innovation roadmap

• Creating lightweight business cases for technical initiatives to drive understanding of value and gain buy-in for implementation

• Ensure compliance between business strategies, enterprise transformation activities and technology directions, often setting strategies, policies, standards and practices.

• Continuously evaluate architectures against emerging technology trends or business growth areas, and propose and define areas of opportunity

• Mentor, guide, coach, and influence System and Solution Architects, Tech Leads, and other team members with the implementation of common architectural vision and direction across programs and teams to ensure synchronization

• Be an evangelist that can discuss high-level solutions and provide oversight as well as staying in touch with the actual implementation at the program and team levels

• Support strategy alignment in areas including but not limited to development and delivery technology stack, solutions interoperability, systems integration, APIs and tooling, infrastructure, hosting, and capacity planning

• Define, recommend, review and validate design proposals or alternatives for new solutions and existing systems that meet client requirements

• Follow policies and procedures like change management, project governance and software configuration management

• Staying relevant and abreast with emerging technologies and standards

• Promote architecture communities of practices and related knowledge sharing

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

- Solid knowledge of enterprise and solution architecture concepts, values, methodologies, and differentiators

- Proven experience delivering scalable and secure applications and integrations solutions, technology, and architecture design and support at the enterprise level

- Strong ability to provide thought leadership to and collaborate with technical teams, effect decision making, and drive results in scaled Agile environments, ideally SAFe

- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills to clearly express and communicate concepts, designs and proposals to all levels of the organization, including key business stakeholders and senior leaders (Directors, VPs, and CXOs)

- Advanced technical expertise in a variety of technologies and technical/architecture areas such as J2EE, Middleware solutions, COTS, SOA, microservices architecture, architecture and business process modeling practices, Oracle, NoSQL, Data Architecture, Data Warehousing, Clustering and High Availability, Message Broker, Security/Identity Management, Information Architecture, UI, DevOps, CI/CD, Virtualization, Cloud, Mobile

- Highly self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision

- Minimum ten (10) years working experience in the information technology sector

- Minimum five (5) years working experience in an architecture position dealing with enterprise level applications/solutions

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• Experience leading scaled agile architecture and engineering practices

• Experience with enterprise legacy systems modernization

• University/College degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related discipline
