Work with a fast and highly technical application engineering team focusing on remediating and securing application source code using agile and secure devops automation methodologies and practices. Software development and runtime platforms including; Java/J2EE, .NET, Javascript, PLSQL, Spring, Hibernate, Dojo Toolkit, AngularJS, Oracle, Weblogic, Tomcat, and JBoss. Tools such as; CodeDx, SonarQube, Coverity, BurpSuite, AppSpider, Metasploit, InsightVM, Cast and Cast Highlight. Systems, such as; Jenkins, Jira, and DevOps CI/CD tool chain. Activities include hands on administration, implementation, configuration, and operation of application security tools and CI/CD automation tools to inform and help remediate compliance benchmarks while reducing risks within applications.



Apply technical expertise by implementing automation strategies to scan software applications, and communicating remediation reports quickly to help application team fix any security vulnerabilities before they are exploited.



Ability to collaborate and work in a diverse group of application and security engineers in developing remediation plans for complex security challenges.



FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



• Day-to-day activities include working with Internal CGI IP and client teams, scanning and assessing threats, provide remediation plan and supporting activities of application code remediation and other security aspects of securing the application.

• Responsibilities include coordinating with application development team to remediate security vulnerabilities and producing weekly and monthly progress reports.

• Participate in technical meetings with customers’ technical specialists.

• Provide guidance in how to resolve security vulnerabilities incidents as required.

• Continuously improve customers’ security deployments and integrate new technologies and services.

• Stay on top of new security threats and trends for application security.





REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE



• Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of experience in software development, DevOps and /or security remediation. Candidates with a Master’s degree must have at least 4 years of experience.

• Proficiency with application development platforms and programming languages including Java, .NET, , Javascript, VB, PLSQL, Python, Spring, Weblogic, Tomcat, Oracle, among others.

• A good understanding and experience in implementing static/dynamic testing tools, web and database security assessment tools; for example: IBM Appscan, Fortify, Checkmarx, BurpSuite, Coverity, Veracode, Appdetective, Guardium, OWASP ZAP, CodeDx, AppSpider, InsightVM.

• Experience in Incident tracking tools such as Jira

• Training or experience in remediation and secure coding techniques.

• Software Development experience / understanding (must be able to read code )

• Proven ability to work closely with Application Owner and Development team to communicate and help remediate security vulnerabilities.

• Must be able to pass a CGI background check to start employment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED



• Knowledge and experience with a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Secure System Development Lifecycle (SecSDLC), as well as Agile/SCRUM methodologies

• Automation experience is a plus ( scripting experience )

• Security relevant certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security, CEH.

• Understanding of federal cybersecurity guidance such as NIST SP 800-53r4 Security Controls and Assessment Procedures for Federal Information Systems and Organizations, NIST SP 800-37 - Guide for Applying the Risk Management Framework to Federal Information Systems: a Security Life Cycle Approach and NIST 800-137 - Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) for Federal Information Systems and Organizations. Understanding of the DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program (CDM).

• Prior experience in US Government SECRET or equivalent or above environments.
