Position Description:

The Network Architect is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support our growing network infrastructure. He or she will manage and participate as part of a team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs. This is a hands-on position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

•Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS) in both physical and virtual environments.
•Configure firewall rules, IPS, routing, and VPNs. Test and monitor connectivity and network performance in major CSP environment and external connections (both physical and VPN). Troubleshoot network issues.
•Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
•Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
•Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
•Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
•Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
•Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
•Collaborate with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
•Plan and monitor the execution of scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours, participating as necessary.
•Share domain and technical expertise, provide technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• A SECRET security clearance is required to begin employment (U.S. citizenship required).
•10 years’ experience in managing large scale networks
•Extensive knowledge of Networks (LAN/WAN) and Telecommunications,
•Well versed in cloud architectures, software defined networking, data center switching technologies, and securing virtual environments
•Knowledge of OSI model, network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP1&2, etc.),
•In-depth knowledge of the administration of routers, switches, load balancers and firewalls (Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Citrix, etc.).
•Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert or Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCIE or CCDE) certification required for support of Cisco-based systems.

Desired Skills:
•Knowledge of wireless technologies and authentication mechanisms (Radius, Tacacs, etc.),
•Knowledge of VPN technologies (IPSec, client remote access towards different sites),
•Experience in network switches design plans (VLAN, VTP, Trunking, Port-Channeling, Spanning tree),
•Experience in implementation and support of network operations.
