SAP Functional PS (Project Systems) Consultant:



Description:

The PS Consultant is a professional who will lead all Project Systems processes for our clients. He/she will ensure that all strategies are implemented efficiently and according to plan and that the client goals are satisfactorily reached. The PS consultant will be accountable for the solution working with the client team to understand their process & functional requirements. Estimating project skills are required, defining and agreeing on deliverables and milestones, setting and controlling the functional scope.

The PS consultant may lead the solution and deployment of the SAP project system design across the functional areas. The PS Consultant will present weekly status updates to the project manager and or the client project manager.

Responsibilities:

The SAP PS CGI Centre of Experience is responsible for the analysis, design, configuration, testing, documentation & support of the SAP PS area to meet the business needs for CGI customers.

Working closely with our customers to deliver, maintain and troubleshoot and enhance SAP functionality, the PS consultant adds value to the SAP CoE through their knowledge of the PS and its integration with other modules and processes around project management:

• Provides specialist level functional and configuration knowledge in designing SAP solutions in the PS modules of ECC 6 EHP6 and higher

• Understands the business processes; and how the application solves the client’s requirements

• Excellent configuration knowledge of PS structures- WBS , network, milestones, templates

standard structures, cost planning , user status profiles, budgeting, materials

planning, assembly processing , project quotation, time sheets, time sheet

confirmations, goods issues, project stock , Results analysis – cost based and

revenue based methods, completion contract method, period-end processing –

overheads, results analysis, settlement, Experience in Project Builder, Project Execution Processes Period-End closing and Reporting of Projects

• Good knowledge of investment, customer and cost projects.

• Investment management configuration and integration with PS objects.

• Should have sound knowledge of material cost estimate

• Should have knowledge in developing and using data migration tools.

• Understands configuration dependencies and interrelationships between separate functional modules of SAP and designs and troubleshoots in the area with this knowledge

• Conducts or participates in user requirements gathering, blueprinting & documentation designs.

• Provides alternatives based on best practices and SAP functionality

• Develops functional specifications and works with technical resources to complete

object development and testing

• Demonstrate proof of concept & assist in training activities

• Perform testing of configuration and problem fixes, change requests, enhancements, and new

functionality.

• Work with SAP to resolve software bugs via OSS.

• Keep abreast of SAP releases, enhancements/new functionality and perform

application research.

• Participate in release upgrade or new functionality / enhancement assessments

and make recommendations.

• Perform break/fix analysis and recommend solutions for related processes.

• Develops functional specifications and works with BASIS and ABAP personnel resources to complete object development and testing

• May lead and coordinate the work of a small team

• Provides leadership in the development of functional skills in others through active

knowledge sharing

• Able to work in high customized environments in PS, SCM, and PM, and AA.



Requirements:

• A university degree coupled with solid technology and Business Management

experience. Previous experience as a SAP consultant.

• 6 to 8 years’ experience in SAP configuration with minimum 2 End-to-End implementations and/or at least 3 Support Projects

• 3 years Project Management or work scheduling experience

• Knowledge of Integration with CATS

• Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment

• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

• Should work in a team and be energetic

• Strong supervisory, coaching and project management skills

• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills

• Excellent negotiation, influence, mediation and conflict management skills

DESIRED:

• SAP Certification in PS and other modules would be desirable

• ASAP Methodology knowledge and experience in using all aspects of the 5 phases

• Working knowledge and aspects of the Agility methodology

• Knowledge of how PS integrates with FI/CO and other modules
