Position Description:

We are looking for a support personnel to perform security patching for OpenStack and OpenShift. The member will follow a change management process, perform health checks, cordon instances, migrate instances, install security patches, restart instances, troubleshoot errors, escalate to engineer and vendor as needed.

This role can be located in our Hartford, CT, New Brunswick, NJ, or New York, NY Offices.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Test, validate, and deploy patches and security updates across all our OpenShift and OpenStack infrastructure in line with our vulnerability management SLAs
• Leverage test environments, test procedures, and pilot groups to allow thorough testing of patches prior to full deployment
• Partner with application teams to address issues discovered during patching and remediate them so that upgrades can continue
• Identify and deliver on opportunities to automate, orchestrate, or otherwise improve our security processes, including detection and assessment of vulnerabilities, regression testing patches, and deployment/remediation of vulnerabilities
• Enable infrastructure, platform, and application teams to drive a stronger security posture, by leveraging security and vulnerability management tools like Service Now and Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS)
• Due to the nature of our production environment, this role may require flexible hours/scheduling (e.g., if the engineer is upgrading a critical environment, they may need to work after-hours in lieu of working a normal daytime shift)

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field preferred.
• 1-5 years of relevant IT work experience.
Technologies :

• Compute: Linux OS, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS
• Hypervisor: OpenStack
• Experience listed above can be supplemented or substituted with a proven track record of working with other disruptive technologies and other successes.
Skills Required:
• Patching, lifecycle, vulnerability management, or other relevant information security experience
• Preferred: Direct administration experience with Kubernetes (OpenShift and EKS), OpenStack, and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $60,300 - $146,800.
