CGI Federal is hiring a Cloud Architect SME to work with a skilled and motivated team of professionals on a high-visibility Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) cyber security program. You will support a dynamic, fast-paced project focused on improving the cyber security posture of civilian government agencies through the implementation and enhancement of a cybersecurity platform, providing integration services, and developing, securing and maintaining cybersecurity dashboards. You will work closely with a variety of agency stakeholders, supporting their mission, priorities, organization and unique challenges. You will also support the development of additional cyber security offerings focused on next generation security solutions and technologies.

This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
You will be required to be in our Fairfax, VA office two days per week.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Create a well-informed cloud strategy for a shared solutions platform based on modern data processing techniques and manage the transition of customers to the new platform
• Maintain a seamless flow of information from external platforms into the Shared Service Platform for a variety of data sources
• Develop new processes using serverless architectures deploying microservices
• Develop secure APIs to extract data from the Shared Service Platform in support of external stakeholders who have interest in the information we collect
• Experience architecting automated, fault-tolerant, scalable AWS environments adhering to AWS best practices for small to large initiatives.
• Maintain AWS Cloud Infrastructure in Optimal Configuration from both technical and budgetary perspectives
• Provide input and guidance to personnel and technology SMEs to the overall AWS architecture and platform design tenets.
• Work with the SMEs for shared services, the end customers, and vendors to ensure a seamless transition, as well as an operations and maintenance policy
• Regularly evaluates cloud, hardware, and software; provides reports and feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement of processes
• Develop and organize cloud systems; guides personnel in support of the systems and train personnel when required
• Ensure coordination with cyber security and information assurance to meet all requirements and comply with all regulations
• Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner; ensures efficient and effective issue resolution
• Provide guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the Cloud
• Identify top cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Due to the nature of the contract requirements, US citizenship and successful passing of CGI background check is required prior to beginning work. In addition, candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS CISA EOD/Public Trust clearance
• Bachelor’s degree (8+ years experience in lieu of formal degree) and 6+ years experience in Cloud Engineer (AWS platform preferred)
• Must have AWS Professional-Level Certification
• Experience documenting technical requirements
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient at multi-tasking and proactive in work responsibilities
• Superior attention to detail
• Passion for providing great customer service
• The desired candidate will have experience in the design, deployment & integration of on-premise and hybrid cloud solutions
• Security relevant certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, Security, and CEH.
• Understanding of federal cybersecurity guidance such as NIST SP 800-37, Guide for Applying the Risk Management Framework to Federal Information Systems: A Security Life Cycle Approach and NIST 800-137, Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) for Federal Information Systems and Organizations.
• Understanding of, or direct experience with, CISA’s Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program (CDM)
• Understanding of machine learning techniques related to data classification

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $122,200.00 - $264,600.00.
