As a Kafka Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Apache Kafka clusters to ensure high performance, scalability, and availability. You will collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to support real-time data streaming and processing requirements. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of our data infrastructure and the successful delivery of data-driven projects.

Criteria:

• Manage Kafka Clusters:
• Monitor and maintain Apache Kafka clusters, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Plan and execute Kafka cluster deployments, upgrades, and configurations.
• Security and Compliance:
• Implement security measures such as authentication, authorization, and encryption.
• Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
• Performance Optimization:
• Analyze and optimize Kafka performance through tuning parameters and resource management.
• Conduct capacity planning to ensure clusters can handle expected data loads.
• Troubleshooting and Incident Management:
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to Kafka clusters, brokers, topics, and consumers.
• Monitor and respond to incidents, escalating when necessary.
• Documentation and Best Practices:
• Maintain accurate documentation of Kafka architecture, configurations, and procedures.
• Develop and enforce best practices for Kafka usage and maintenance.
• Collaboration and Support:
• Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and other stakeholders to design and support data streaming solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and training to team members and end users.
• Monitoring and Automation:
• Set up monitoring tools to track Kafka cluster health, performance, and logs.
• Automate tasks such as cluster provisioning, configuration management, and scaling.
• Innovation and Improvement:
• Stay updated on the latest developments in Apache Kafka and related technologies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for Kafka infrastructure and processes
• Replication Support
• Support Oracle or SQL Server data replication to Snowflake
• Support to PowerBI administration and reporting
