The Public Relations Manager will help build awareness and preference for CGI in the federal market and related influencers, such as media, industry analysts, thinks tanks, educational institutions and the local communities in which CGI Federal operates. The position entails development of content for a variety of channels and selection of channels with an emphasis on securing earned media placements. Reporting to the Communications Director, the Public Relations Manager will be a member of the CGI Federal Marketing & Communications team.
This positon demands exceptional communication skills, particularly in writing and outreach.

Fonctions et responsabilités :

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
• Work with CGI Federal leaders and subject matter experts to develop and place content for external awareness. This includes press releases, media pitches, talking points, speeches and white papers among others.
• Elevate CGI Federal’s public awareness and perception, as well as track and measure the effectiveness of these company efforts.
• Develop and deliver thought-leadership content such as executive byliners and op-eds; identify appropriate outlets for these, and work with editors to secure placement.
• Stay abreast of federal IT trends and developments; recommend topics on which to showcase CGI Federal’s subject matter experts.
• Take a lead role in working with other colleagues to develop a viable CGI Federal Speakers Bureau; track and measure participating executives and the means to secure executives’ presence and messages in these.
• Work with CGI Federal’s social media professionals to ensure consistency of messages, share best practices and repurpose content across traditional and social media channels (for example, leveraging blog posts and white papers for development and placement of executive bylines and op-eds.
• Work with CGI Federal’s internal communication professionals to cross-purpose content that recognizes corporate, executive and community achievement.
• Ensure that all content and deliverables adhere to corporate branding standards in all communications and events.
Secondary Duties
• Partner with vertical and horizontal marketing professionals on the team to develop content and marketing collateral in support of unified campaigns that showcase CGI Federal’s expertise across its business portfolio.
• Research and develop content for award nominations.
• Work with CGI Federal’s internal communication professionals to cross-purpose content that recognizes corporate, executive and community achievement.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualités requises pour réussir dans ce rôle :

• Proven success as a journalist of media relations professional for a public relations agency, corporation, marketing/communications company, industry or membership association, educational or think-tank institution.
• Federal IT industry experience.
• Ability to understand highly technical concepts and develop related content in laymen’s terms
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Experience delivering content and tactics in support of business development goals.
• Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other team members, executives and other stakeholders.
• Ability to manage through influence.
• Ability to operate in a matrixed organization.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree plus seven years of experience.
