Position Description:

CGI, a world-class IT company, is seeking a senior level Java resource with a minimum of 10 years of java development experience.

The candidate will work closely with the Java Team Lead and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations (incident resolution, estimating, making enhancements or constructing new systems) with a primary goal of meeting or exceeding contracted service level agreements (SLAs) and estimates. This position would suit a dynamic and seasoned software developer with a proven track record not only in delivering quality applications but also in providing excellent customer service, excellent written and oral communication skills and leadership in a demanding Information Technology environment.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The candidate should be able to assist the Java Team Lead to organize and mentor the team while providing guidance and development support to other team members for a variety of applications that use a wide variety of Java and other technologies. The candidate will be required to troubleshoot complex, multi component defects often requiring the collaboration of multiple vendors. The candidate should also help the Java Team Lead with client meetings and general communications with clients; it is vital that the candidate have willingness and ability to work independently with clients, making the ‘right’ decisions when necessary. The ability to think independently and prioritize work based on SLAs and project demands with changing priorities is a must have skill set.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Excellent communication skills – both, oral and written
• A willingness to apply those oral and written skills to communicate directly with clients and to write first-class documentation.

Key Technical Skills:

• Windows and Unix/Linux or Solaris
• Java 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7
• Spring/ Hibernate or equivalent ORM framework
• WebServices (SOAP or Restful)
• Shell Scripting skills, (Bash preferred)

Desirable skills:

• Oracle SQL experience
• Apache Tomcat
• iPlanet
• OpenAM or other comparable identity management technologies
• Glassfish Application server
• Weblogic
• Working knowledge of JEE based authentication and authorization models
• Development IDEs NetBeans or Eclipse
• UML or other related modeling tools or modeling languages
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Independent learner and self-starter
• Java and/or other related certifications
