CGI is looking for a Data Engineer to join our team in Charlotte. You will be a part of the Data & Analytics Solutions Team and be responsible for development and consulting activities related to analytics within various client IT and business units. You will be responsible for working with business, IT as well as Data Science to stage required data for exploration.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

•Build new data pipelines, identify existing data gaps and provide automated solutions to deliver analytical capabilities and enriched data to applications
•Responsible for obtaining data from the System of Record and establishing real-time data feed to provide analysis in an automated fashion
•Design, document, build, test and deploy data pipelines that assemble large complex datasets from various sources and integrate them into a unified view
•Develop Hadoop applications to analyze massive data collections
•Develop processing framework to detect conditions
•Develop techniques supporting trending and analytic decision-making processes
•Apply Hadoop technologies for responsive front-end experience
•Develop, construct, test and maintain architectures
•Develop within security guidelines established

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

•Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems or software engineering.
•1 - 3 years of Data Engineering work experience
•Experience using Python for Data Engineering (required)
•Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala
•Experience with big data tools: Hadoop (required), Spark/PySpark (required), Kafka
•Experience with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as familiarity with a variety of RDMS (required)
•Comfortable working with complex data sets across a various data lake zones
•Experience in Kimball dimensional data modelling, data warehousing architecture, ETL tools
•Knowledge of Hadoop Ecosystem and preferably designing data queries against data in the HDFS environment using tools such as Apache Hive and Apache HBase (Preferred)
•Strong analytic skills working with unstructured datasets
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Experience with working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
•Consulting experience in an agile environment is a plus
