Your day to day activities
As Ops Engineer you are responsible for the stability of your own applications. You identify problems and take the lead in resolving them. Your tasks includes the monitoring, managing and testing of high-quality applications. You deploy/transport the application to the production environment and monitor that the application is available and functioning correctly. You proactively monitor the technical behavior and performance throughout the entire value chain.
As an IT Engineer you fulfill a major IT-role in a professional team of Development- and Operations Engineers (DevOps team) in building tests and support. The DevOps teams use the Scrum methodology and Continuous delivery Engineering Practices.
Things you need to be successful
You have good communication skills, social skills and an analyzing mindset. You are proactive and you know how to take initiative. You are eager to learn and apply new things. Working in an Agile/Scrum environment is no stranger for you. You also have:
• A completed college or university degree with a strong ICT component;
• At least 5 years of experience in technical application support on AIX and Linux (RedHat);
• At least one scripting language and knowledge of software development;
• Experience in the banking sector;
• Certification in one or more programming languages;
• Thorough knowledge of Java Unix and Linux;
• Knowledge of Continuous delivery (Continuous Integration and Deployment) inc. tooling (eg. Nolio).

As an Ops Engineer you will be working for the business unit Financial Services. Retail and Corporate Banking are rapidly changing.
