Position Description:

Due to ongoing growth and success in the province of BC, CGI is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join our world-class IT solution company in a permanent full-time role in our office in Victoria, BC. This is a senior level role providing information technology services to our clients in BC.

We are seeking an experienced individual with a minimum of eight (8) years working as a Business Analyst. The ideal candidate will want to work closely with both our clients and our Operations team members to ensure that business needs are accurately captured, defined and translated into functional requirements. This role will also work closely with our Architecture team to validate that these requirements are effectively expressed in our design. Experience in both traditional and agile-based development methodologies is a requirement.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Work closely with clients, project managers, other business analysts, and software developers in order to develop effective and high-quality enterprise software solutions
• Understand the analytical processes that drive out effective functional requirements from business needs
• Ensure that appropriate methods and tools for the gathering, analysis, and management of requirements are adopted and used effectively throughout a project
o Experienced use of Sparxsystems Enterprise Architecture is desirable
• Understand ITIL-based processes used in AMS
• Understand, learn, and work with a variety of products and technologies related to .NET, Java Enterprise platform and Oracle custom software application development

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• University/College degree in Computer Sciences or a related discipline, and/or a recognized diploma in Business Analysis, or an equivalent combination of experience, certification and education.
• Minimum (8) years Enterprise level, technically focused, Business Analysis experience
o Experience in an AMS environment is an asset
• Prior work in a team-oriented consulting environment
• Be highly self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create professional requirements documentation, business cases, and executive presentations
• Expertise in a variety of technologies and products related to Java EE, .NET, and Oracle systems
• Certification in TOGAF, PMP, ITIL, etc. is an asset
• Familiarity with working on projects in the BC Provincial (or other public sector) IT environment
• Familiarity with Agile Business Analysis is an asset
