Position Description:

This is a great opportunity to become a member of CGI’s Web Services Team. Our team works with world class clients providing web development and design services to our clients in British Columbia, bringing ideas and concepts to life. Our design and build process is collaborative, leading edge and takes advantages of the latest technology such as HTML5, Responsive Design and the best of breed Content Management Systems such as, but not limited to, Adobe Experience Manager (CQ), Drupal and Kentico.

Our Victoria team proudly builds and support the websites that help the government provide information and services to the people of British Columbia.

The Web Developer/Designer will be responsible for the design, development, testing and delivery of major and minor Web sites and applications. Best practices and design methods will be utilized to ensure the success of each and every project. Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality work by tight deadlines are required attributes.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Operating effectively as a member of the web development team;
• Designing, coding and testing existing and new web sites based on detailed business requirements and designs;
• Designing and developing web pages, graphics, multimedia and GUIs;
• Understanding and addressing web related issues, operates effectively for quick turnaround of enhancements, fixes and solutions;
• Utilizing storyboarding, wireframes and predesigns and preparing detailed and accurate specifications and estimates;
• Demonstrating an ability to independently manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a collaborative team environment;
• Developing and maintaining reference material and documentation, including user guide/help sites.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Minimum 3years practical experience developing enterprise level websites;
• Practical experience with some or all of the following: HTML, JavaScript , CSS, .NET, PHP, Ajax, XML and Wireframes;
• Practical exposure and/or experience with graphics creation with Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, ActionScript and HTML5;
• Solid understanding of navigation and GUI for maximizing UI usability;
• Practical exposure and/or experience with Responsive Design and mobile development;
• Experience with software development life cycle, including design, testing, deployment, and documentation activities;
• Experience with Web Content Management Systems such as Kentico, Drupal, Adobe Experience Manager (CQ) or Interwoven is strongly preferred;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Desire and willingness to work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible and team-oriented environment;
• Successfully graduated from a 2 year or longer Computer Science/Information Technology program achieving a Diploma or Degree a plus but not required.
