This is a great opportunity to become a member of CGI, based in Victoria, to provide leading information technology services to our clients. We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with a minimum of 8 years IT experience in government environments.
The Business Analyst will be expected to be experienced and seasoned, familiar with the Software Development Lifecyle and performing requirements gathering using an agile methodology. This person will have responsibilities for process coordination, process flows, use cases and other documentation.
Elaborate in more detail the high level business & technical requirements (functional and non-functional)
Work closely with the proxy product owner to understand requirements priorities, plan BA work and provide desired outputs in a timely manner
Engage with stakeholders, elicit requirements, define project scope
Develop user stories, use cases and software requirement specifications document using storyonboard.
Create and maintain Zenhub for the user stories and tasks
Serve as the “go to” person for the development and QA team
Collaborate throughout the project with the product owners, scrum master, designers and developers to keep the documentation up to date and most accurate
Collaborate with product owners and designers to create wireframes and for the idea generation
Actively participate with QM in acceptance testing
Provide Product Owner support
Formally document findings and present proposed solutions to clients
Provide Business Analysis support for Agile projects
Prepare and maintain project deliverables according to CGI's ISO certified processes
University or College degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred
Strong qualifications as outlined in this posting will be considered in the absence of this educational requirement
Minimum 8 years Business Analysis experience
Experience with large system development projects
Advanced knowledge of uses case and process modeling techniques
Well versed in non-functional requirements, such as performance, response time, operability and traceability
Experience with sizing and planning of new initiatives
Excellent analytical/documentation skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, Sharepoint and Microsoft Project
Experience working with public sector clients
Superior analysis and problem solving skills to proactively and quickly address and decompose complex issues into manageable pieces
Good technical skills to understand the potential and the limitations of information technology
Ability to analyze scope, requirements and issues, and define required work effort
Highly developed competency in complex, large-scale development programs
Strong time-management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities within a highly demanding environment
Ability to take control of issues and manage them to resolution in a highly complex, multi-stakeholder environment
Ability to multi-task, to effectively handle multiple demands and competing priorities
Ability to work in an ongoing changing environment
Strong team player, with ability to work both in teams and individually
Ability to lead and mentor others
Superior verbal and written English communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills to work with end users as well as with business analysts, developers and other systems professionals
