Position Description:

CGI is currently looking for a Senior User Experience (UX) Designer to join our team in Victoria. Our Digital Transformation Practice is at the forefront in creating engaging user experiences that transform complex tasks into intuitive, accessible and easy to use digital products and cross-channel services.

We require a professional Senior UX Designer with the ability to create, prototype, organize, and build, and deploy digital service solutions. You will present compelling recommendations, journey maps, and service blueprints. You lead the development of prototypes and product strategy. Ideally, you will have had extensive experience developing design artifacts such as wireframes, interaction flows and content strategy.

This role requires someone who is responsible for driving and executing the research strategy, and ensuring that user insights continuously inform the development of digital products and cross-channel services. You will work as part of an agile team, providing a range of activities to inform iterative development. You will regularly interact with product owners, service designers, interaction designers, developers and other team members to understand and guide the project.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Being part of this exciting, client focused team, you will:

• Lead development and execution of research plans to inform development of digital products and cross-channel services
• Work closely with the agile product team by participating in business discovery, sprint planning, daily scrums, team co-design sessions and design reviews
• Share insights from research and communicate key feedback from users
• Lead in the development of research presentation artifacts such as journey maps and service blueprints
• Create, organize, and execute user and stakeholder research, including contextual interviews, co-design sessions, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and data analysis
• Proactively learn about new areas and, through your communication, help others learn and engage with new ideas
• Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations of findings and recommendations for improvements to clients and stakeholders at all levels
• Translate UX recommendations and data-driven decisions for feature/function concepts into visual designs such as wireframes and prototypes

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Required Level of Education (including certifications):

• University or College graduate in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, UX, or related discipline or proven work experience as a UX Designer or similar role

The Senior UX Designer role involves interacting with a wide range of clients, stakeholders, and team members. Required soft skills include:

• Excellent communication skills – You are a communicator who knows how to write for different mediums and channels, like video, social media, and graphic design
• A passion for the user’s experience and the desire to create measurable improvements to service delivery
• Track record of working in multi-disciplinary teams and with external clients and partners
• Detail oriented and meticulous
• Positive, flexible, and team-oriented approach
• Experience working on an Agile team is an asset
• Skilled at communication with people who aren’t familiar with design, comfortable working alongside clients during the design process, and are excited to work with people on research and testing.

Additional Skills:

• 5+ years of related industry experience working as a user experience designer
• A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables
• Experience with service design methodologies, including user and stakeholder research beyond digital environments
• Able to build APIs in a RESTful style or the like
• You’re able to sketch and prototype your ideas on paper, in software or code
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
