This is a hybrid onsite role that can be completed from either Phoenix Arizona or Dallas Texas.

CGI is seeking an experienced SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) who has fresh ideas and a unique viewpoint, and who enjoys collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop real-world solutions and positive user experiences for every interaction. Objectives of this role:

• Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
• Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
• Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.
• Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating for continual improvement.
• Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed software applications

• Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
• Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
• Managing and growing innovative, production-quality tools to solve real operational problems for our network.
• Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.
• Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives.
• Providing technical solutions to real business problems in a global organization

Qualités requises pour réussir dans ce rôle :

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related discipline.
• 1 - 4 years of solid hands-on software development experience with a focus on continuous delivery and deployment and cloud automation.
• 1 - 4 years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, *nix operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience.
• Understanding and experience of SRE concepts such as Automation, Capacity planning, Monitoring, Performance optimization, SLO’s etc.
• Ability to program (structured and OOP) using one or more high-level languages, such as Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript.
• Software design patterns, SDLC, Open-Source Development, Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
• Experience with distributed storage technologies such as NFS, HDFS, Ceph, and Amazon S3, as well as dynamic resource management frameworks (Apache Mesos, Kubernetes, Yarn)
• Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Splunk etc.
• Experience with Oracle or Mongo or MySQL databases.
• Experience with caching tools like Redis etc.
• Experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitHub, JFrog, uDeploy.
• Knowledge of platform tools like VM, Open Shift Container etc.
• Preferred knowledge of network tools like Datapower, Akamai.
• Awareness of Load Balancer and development frameworks like SpringBoot, Spring Batch, Angular etc.
• Proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.

OPTIONAL: Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required

• Experience with structured coding techniques, CI/CD pipelines build processes, Git, code reviews, unit testing.
• Experience of designing, developing or operating cloud services running on AWS.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $67,800 - $165,200.
