CGI is hiring a Development Manager and "technologist-at-heart" to lead the development of pioneering technologies and innovative solutions for the Federal Government. You will lead a major Java and Angular effort evolving a Healthcare system that uses advanced technologies and techniques. Through a program of iterative releases using Agile/SAFe and DevOps methodologies, you’ll own the overall delivery and quality of the solution, ensuring effective planning, tracking, and achievement of key measures.

This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Tus futuras funciones y responsabilidades:

• Ability to understand the big-picture program goals, turning those into detail-oriented action plans, working with urgency, and availability & flexibility to work after-hours and weekends to support program milestones
• Manage multiple application development teams for the development of a Cloud based application. Responsible for overall management, quality, and delivery of the Development team (people management and task management).
• Ability to discuss and coordinate program details with senior management and the client, representing the development activities and solution.
• Review and suggest architectural improvements, provide design and integration solutions.
• Promote reusable component design and development.
• Support development of web application using Java/J2EE frameworks - SpringBoot, Spring Model View Controller, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, Spring Web, Drools rule engine, and Hibernate ORM.
• Support capacity planning and resource management
• Effectively coordinate with cross functional teams
• Team leverages a hybrid SAFe agile framework
• Act as a change agent for continuous product and process improvements; aware of trends in the technology within the industry
• Identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues across the program. Continually seek ways to improve communications and collaboration within and across teams, and remove technical roadblocks
• Collaborate with the program management team, team leads, and client partners to drive the strategic direction for the system and the individual goals for each of your scrum teams
• Work closely with engineering teams to deliver scrum teams roadmap and goals and ensure a full functional product is built and delivered following development, security, and architecture guidelines
• Dive into how things get implemented, what technology/skill is required to meet the business requirements and reduce or eliminate technical debts.

Calificaciones requeridas para tener éxito en este rol:

• Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of professional IT experience, with at least 7 years as a technical delivery manager for large scale enterprise solutions with 100 - 200 team members
• Strong preference for driving solutions for complex enterprise problems and crafting high quality contributions that create a significant impact for the business.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities
• Strong client facing skills with a background of success working directly with the customer
• Solid grasp of agile and lean principles, specifically Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and a DevSecOps approach
• Understanding of current stack technologies including Java, Angular, AWS, Jira, and Microservices.
• Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $96,500.00 - $235,200.00.
