This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our client office in Markham 2-3 times per week - subject to change at any time.

Skills & Experience Required:
• Proven experience defining end-to-end solutions for IT change focusing on the Guidewire Insurance Suite, especially focused on Guidewire ClaimCenter
• Proven experience creating Guidewire centric designs that are fit for purpose from a functional, non-functional, service, and security point of view
• Proven experience creating solutions and designs for Guidewire ClaimCenter (knowledge of other Guidewire suites; PolicyCenter, BillingCenter and ContactManager are nice to have)
• Proven experience supporting/defining architectural best practices and standards in the Guidewire space and enforcing them in project solutions
• Proven experience in Guidewire Edge
• Knowledge of digital technologies, cloud computing, and modern development practices
• Certified in public cloud (AWS or Azure)
• Proven experience in Agile end-to-end project lifecycle methodology

Role Purpose:
The purpose of the Solution Architect role is to:

Define end-to-end solutions for IT change focusing on the Guidewire Insurance suite especially focused on Guidewire ClaimCenter

Create Guidewire centric designs that are fit for purpose from a functional, non-functional, service, and security point of view.

Deliver solutions that progress the overall architecture journey and are aligned to Aviva’s IT Strategy

Comply with standards, design approaches and governance.
Accountabilities
Nature of Work

Solutions and Assurance
o
Create solutions and design for Guidewire Insurance platform - Guidewire ClaimCenter. Knowledge of other Guidewire suites - Guidewire BillingCenter, Guidewire PolicyCenter, Guidewire Contact Mgr. is optional.
o
Produce Guidewire design and migration options with associated costs, benefits, and risks to enable investment decisions.
o
Create migration solution to convert the claims/policies from legacy system to Guidewire ClaimCenter/PolicyCenter
o
Work with product owners, enterprise architects, platform teams and other project colleagues to agree trade-offs between, long-term and short-term goals.
o
Responsible for the integrity of the end-to-end Guidewire solution across Platforms, including transition states used to achieve the target state.
o
Shape and estimate IT initiatives and feature team sprints, ensuring that component parts deliver against business outcomes.
o Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
o Record any solution debt incurred during the transition phase of the solution and address the same in future phases.
o Identify potential risks and challenges associated with proposed solutions.
o Develop mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
o
Participate in post-implementation reviews and provide feedback to improve future solution designs.

Technical Leadership
o
Keep up with technological developments in the Guidewire platform, Guidewire integration and evaluate how well they fit into the company's architecture.
o
Evaluate Guidewire Cloud Platform features, assess its capabilities against business needs and recommend for adoption.
o
Support defining the architecture best practices and standards in the Guidewire space and enforcing them in the project solutions.
o
Ensure design artefacts are produced to support stakeholder group for service, security, architecture, and engineering.
o
Peer reviews the design artefacts of others.
o
Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to less experienced team members as required.

Contribute to the Solution Architecture community across Aviva Group leading on or participating in initiatives to improve Aviva’s approach to design.
o
Develop your technical skills to support Aviva’s need to understand and exploit emerging technology trends.

o

External interaction

Maintain liaison with suppliers and the relevant sources of technology to ensure the specialist knowledge is kept up to date.

Capabilities

Proven experience in Guidewire Insurance suite including Guidewire ClaimCenter, Contact Manager, and Guidewire Edge.

Knowledge of Guidewire Cloud Platform capabilities and cloud migration approaches/options.

Experience in architecting integration solution involving Guidewire to the ecosystem’s applications including document, finance, payments exposure.

Experience in integration architecture design and implementation.

Knowledge of digital technologies, cloud computing, and modern development practices.

Certified in the public cloud (AWS or Azure)

Strong knowledge of end-to-end project lifecycle methodologies (mainly agile).

Strong technical experience. This maybe broad experience with the ability to apply it across a variety of customer and business scenarios.

The role holder must care about technology and how to exploit it for the benefit of our customers.

Financial acumen to support development of business cases and to inform key design decisions.
