Role
Functional Architect Commercial Projects - The Functional Architect Commercial Projects is a member of the IS&T Commercial Business Partner team and is responsible for the solution design of applications within our Commercial domain. The role is essential in the architecting, design support, maintenance, extension, and improvement of the applications that manage the contract to cash process and logistics functions within Commercial, by providing fit-for-purpose designs, quality assurance, and functional consulting to the Commercial team business users and delivery partners

Objectives
Reporting to the IS&T Business Partner – Marine and Logistic Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Define, develop, and confirm business requirements and solution designs for business and IT stakeholders consistent with the business vision, strategy, objectives, priorities, and drivers for the Commercial organization within Rio Tinto.
- Contribute to the development of the Commercial IS&T strategy and roadmap.
- Provide functional solution expertise, process analysis, and consulting services across IS&T and Commercial teams (Sales and Marketing, Distribution and Logistics).
- Deliver solution design and implementation estimates and lead software product selection, leveraging knowledge from other SME practitioners.
- Assess design, applications, and systems alternatives and provide recommendations to the business and IT stakeholders.
- Manage the overall quality assurance of solutions, across the design, build, and testing phases of delivery projects, including the review and sign-off for design and build deliverables.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of integrated applications to drive consistency with data models and standards.
- Investigate and troubleshoot solution incidents and issues and advise the delivery partners on appropriate solutions.
- Support delivery and operations team with solution assurance, problem analysis, and troubleshooting as required.
- Participate in and support any procurement-related activities on system implementation vendor selection and software product selection.
- Collaborate and contribute to digital architecture, operational, and other related governance forums

Qualifications
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, Engineering or Commercial disciplines.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in solution design and delivery as an implementation consultant or lead solution architect of sales and marketing applications.
- SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) and Logistics Execution (LE) functional experience, as an implementation consultant or part of a solution delivery team.
- Strong operational and functional process knowledge in the Order-to-Cash and Supply Chain domains, and manufacturing industries.
- Experience with Agile delivery methodology and design thinking.
- Proven experience in business process re-engineering, process design, and significant change management.
- Experience in implementations of custom / best of breed systems (other than SAP) and their integration with SAP
- Excellent collaboration, influencing, and analytical abilities, building good relationships with key business stakeholders.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a network organization across multiple regions/time zones.
- Ability to balance breadth and depth: go into processes and solution details while retaining the big picture and value to the business in sight
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to translate complex business requirements into functional and technical solutions.
- Creative and innovative problem-solving and logical and structured decision-making.

It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Experience with eCommerce/Customer Portal, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), sales and marketing reporting/analytics, and planning and SOP tools.
- Agile certification.
- API integration knowledge.
- knowledge of Microsoft Azure (and its components)
- PowerBI experience.
- Good understanding of master data governance.
- Experience in supply chain disciplines.
- MS PowerApps or other rapid application development platform experience.

Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring interaction with national and global clients.
